Local MG Clubs

We are very fortunate to have not one but two MG clubs in the Tampa Bay area.

The newest addition to the area (if you can call over 25 years old “new”) is the Florida Suncoast MG Car Club.

This active group of enthusiasts host a monthly breakfast gathering, a monthy event, and also host The MG Jamboree. This is a weekend of fun and togetherness that has become one of Florida’s favorite MG gatherings. Indeed we even get people coming from Georgia and Alabama for this event. Another club in the area that caters to the MG crowd is the Suncoast Classic MG Club. The Suncoast Classic MG Club has teamed with the Nature Coast English Car Club (an all-British club) and have regular meetings every month. Check the website for location and times. Everyone is welcome to attend meet the members and admire the cars in the parking lot. If you are interested in being considered as a member of the club please complete the application form on their website and mail it in.

A typical “Event of the Month” could be a scheduled run, picnic, lunch, local meet, local event, Chili Cook-off, Shrimp In The Park, etc.

The Sun Coast Classic MG Club was founded in 1973 out of pure fun and frustration, by Bob Sumner and a bunch of diehard MGers, over pizza. Several of the founding members are still at it, still eating pizza and are still participating in all events. So if you like tradition and the love of driving your MG, this club is for you. Yes, we have show cars but everyone has a daily driver to brave the weather. The Nature Coast English Car Club was founded more recently to serve British car owners in the northern part of our area.

Another great group of British car enthusiasts belong to the Tampa Bay British Car Club. Many events get-togethers are shared with this group and others.

All of these clubs offer many group activities as incentive for keeping your car running. Members have multiple chances to drive and enjoy themselves with events gauranteed to keep everyones interest.

Although there are many “dual” members, we have been known to combine our activites on occasion. As always, one of the best parts about owning an MG (or any British car for that matter) is the people! As long as we can be given any excuse to get that MG running, and KEEP it runing, there will be great British car clubs like these!
